Paris 13th (75)The renovation of the apartment of a biologist with a passion for painting, in a 1970s concrete building.

This is a personal living space, that of a research biologist with a passion for painting, in a modern all-concrete building from the 1970s.
After several decades of living there, she decided to transform her apartment with clear intentions: to show her paintings, to bring colour into the home and to stage furniture inherited from the Natural History Museum.
The project opens a diagonal view towards the light of the façade. The kitchen opens onto the living space while creating an intimate area for the dining table.
Furniture becomes the substance of thick partitions, and openings in the walls become secret passages between uses. Colour takes shape on well-defined planes: a vertical, a ceiling, or simply the edge of a door.
